St. Stephen's is a warm friendly church aiming to be Christ centred and user friendly. We serve the people of Upper and Lower Basildon,  and are part of the joint Benefice of Basildon, Aldworth and Ashampstead.

We have many activities for families, including Breakfast Church at 9:30 am on the first Sunday of the month, and an activity corner for children, in the church, with toys for younger children and colouring/ writing activities for older ones.

We normally have two Sunday Communion services a month at 10 am, using Common Worship, with hymns on the organ. On other Sundays our music is led by a worship group.

For services during the Coronavirus crisis see our website: thebenefice.uk/services-sermons

We play an active part in our local community, hosting many local groups, a bi-weekly Post Office and weekly Coffee Shop. We put on a monthly film night "First Friday Film Night".

The church is open everyday in daylight hours (approx 9 am to 5 pm).

We also share, with the Churches Conservation Trust, in the care of St Bartholomew's, Lower Basildon. The church is open daily and there are occasional services in the summer. See their website: www.visitchurches.org.uk/visit/church-listing/st-bartholomew-lower-basildon.html

We send out regular emails to keep subscribers in touch with what is happening in the churches and the community. We would love to send it to you (no more than 2 emails a week). Please click here and complete the form (or copy and paste this link http://eepurl.com/bYiRjX into your browser).
